- 3 Tbsp Corn Syrup
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 2 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare the special sauce for our delicious braised chicken with cabbage! In a bowl, combine 3 Tbsp Gochujang, 3 Tbsp Soy Sauce, 5 Tbsp Gochugaru, 5 Tbsp Sugar, 3 Tbsp Mirin, 2 Tbsp Curry Powder, 2 Tbsp Minced Garlic, 3 Tbsp Corn Syrup, 1 tsp Black Pepper, and 2 Tbsp Oyster Sauce. Mix thoroughly until the sauce is well combined. The curry powder adds an extra layer of rich flavor!
Step 2
Prepare the main ingredient: 300g of tender chicken tenderloin. For easier eating, you can cut them into bite-sized pieces.
Step 3
Take half of the prepared sauce and mix it with the chicken tenderloin. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. This allows the flavors to deeply penetrate the chicken, making it much tastier. If you have time, marinating for over 2 hours is highly recommended!
Step 4
Soak the wide glass noodles; use about two pieces the size of a 500-won coin. Place them in hot water and soak for about 15 minutes until they are soft and pliable. Pre-soaking them like this prevents them from clumping together during cooking and reduces the cooking time.
Step 5
Let’s prepare the vegetables for stir-frying. Cut 1/3 of a cabbage into bite-sized pieces (about 2-3 cm). Chop 5 scallions into 3-4 cm lengths. Slice the 4 cloves of garlic thinly. (Optional: You can also thinly slice half an onion to stir-fry with the other ingredients.)
Step 6
Heat a large pan over medium heat and add a little cooking oil. Add the marinated chicken and sliced garlic. Stir-fry until the chicken is lightly browned on the outside and the garlic becomes fragrant. Sautéing the garlic first enhances the overall flavor.
Step 7
Once the chicken is partially cooked, add the sliced onion (optional) and stir-fry together. Cook until the onion starts to turn translucent.
Step 8
Next, add the chopped cabbage and scallions, along with the remaining sauce. Stir-fry over high heat quickly. It’s important to cook the cabbage just until it slightly softens but retains some crispness.
Step 9
Finally, add the soaked glass noodles and stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes, ensuring all ingredients are well combined. The noodles should absorb the sauce and become moist. Once everything is evenly mixed, it’s ready! Serve it over a bowl of freshly cooked hot rice for a delicious meal.
