Simple & Quick Solo Fried Rice
Easy Fried Rice for One
A simple, satisfying one-bowl fried rice recipe perfect for a quick meal.
Ingredients
- 1 serving of cooked rice (cold rice or brown rice works best)
- 4 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced or minced
- 1 serving of pepperoni or your favorite ham, diced
- 2 Korean green chilies (or to taste, can be omitted if you prefer less spice)
- 1-2 Tbsp cooking oil
Seasoning
- 1-2 Tbsp oyster sauce (adjust to your preference)
- Pinch of black pepper
- 1-2 Tbsp oyster sauce (adjust to your preference)
- Pinch of black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare your ingredients. Thinly slice the garlic cloves. Finely mince the Korean green chilies, removing the seeds if you prefer less heat. Dice the ham into bite-sized pieces. Using cold rice will help achieve a fluffier texture when stir-frying.
Step 2
Heat 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and stir-fry until fragrant and lightly golden, being careful not to burn it. Once the garlic is aromatic, add the diced ham and minced green chilies. Continue to stir-fry until the ham is lightly browned and the chilies release their spicy aroma.
Step 3
Add the serving of cooked rice to the pan. Break up any clumps of rice with your spatula and stir-fry to combine it with the other ingredients. Once the rice is well incorporated, add 1-2 tablespoons of oyster sauce and a pinch of black pepper to season. Adjust the oyster sauce to your liking. Increase the heat to high and stir-fry quickly until everything is well combined and heated through.
Step 4
Transfer the delicious fried rice to a serving bowl. You’ve now completed a simple yet satisfying meal! For an extra touch, you can top it with a fried egg or some crumbled seaweed.
