  • Carrot 1/2
  • Rice noodles 3 servings

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the pork neck which will be the base for our delicious steak. I’ve prepared 150g of fresh Korean pork neck. To enhance the steak’s flavor, generously season it with coarse salt and black pepper. Using coarse salt can create a more special experience, reminiscent of dining at a steakhouse!

Step 2

Heat a pan over medium heat, then place the seasoned pork neck to sear until golden brown. Once one side is sufficiently cooked and has a appetizing brown color, flip it over and cook the other side similarly. To retain the steak’s juices, it’s better to cook over medium heat rather than high heat.

Step 3

Be careful not to flip the meat too often while cooking, as this can cause the juices to escape. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning, and it’s important to let it cook thoroughly. Waiting with patience will allow you to enjoy a more moist and delicious steak.

Step 4

While the steak is cooking, chop 2 onions into large pieces. Once the meat is somewhat cooked, place the large onion pieces on top of the meat and cook them together. The onions will add depth of flavor to the meat, and their sweetness will harmonize wonderfully with the curry. Stir occasionally to ensure the onions cook evenly with the meat.

Step 5

Now it’s time to add the vegetables. Add 3 potatoes and 1/2 carrot, cut into large chunks, to the pan. Pour in enough water (about 300ml) to cover the ingredients. Cover with a lid and simmer over medium-low heat until the vegetables are tender. Cooking them this way allows the vegetables to absorb the delicious broth, making them even tastier.

Step 6

Here’s the curry pork neck steak simmering deliciously! The aroma of curry wafting as it bubbles is truly appetizing. As the vegetables cook, the sauce will begin to thicken.

Step 7

After checking that the potatoes are fork-tender (soft but not mushy), sprinkle 1.5 tablespoons of curry powder evenly over the dish. Stir to dissolve the curry powder and simmer for a little longer until it thickens to your desired consistency. You can also adjust the amount of curry powder based on the desired thickness.

Step 8

The finished Curry Pork Neck Steak is incredibly satisfying to eat due to its chunky ingredients! Served over hot rice, it makes for a hearty curry rice bowl. Today, enjoying it with chewy rice noodles creates another delightful experience! This unique combination of curry pork neck steak served over rice noodles is a must-try, so give it a go!
