Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the cream base. In a clean bowl, measure and combine 60g of heavy whipping cream with 7g of granulated sugar.

Using a mini electric frother, gently whisk the cream and sugar together. Aim for a soft, pourable consistency, not stiff peaks – it should be slightly bendable when lifted.
Step 3
Now, let’s make the matcha base. Place 10g of high-quality matcha powder into a wide, sturdy jug or bowl. (For an extra smooth matcha base, consider sifting the powder beforehand.)
Step 4
Pour 25g of hot water over the matcha powder. The ideal water temperature is around 70-80°C (158-176°F). Avoid water that’s too hot, as it can make the matcha taste bitter.
Step 5
Using a matcha whisk (chasen) or a small whisk, thoroughly combine the matcha powder and hot water. Whisk vigorously for about 30 seconds until completely dissolved and smooth, creating a vibrant green matcha base without any clumps.
Step 6
Prepare your serving glass. Fill a clear glass about 70% full with ice cubes. Plenty of ice will help keep your latte refreshingly cold.
Step 7
Slowly pour the matcha base over the ice. To create beautiful layers, gently pour it along the inside edge of the glass in a circular motion. (Pouring the milk first can also help with layer separation.)
Step 8
Carefully spoon or pour the prepared cream base on top of the matcha layer. Pour it slowly along the rim of the glass to ensure a gentle cascade.

Gently rotate the glass to admire the distinct layers of cream and matcha, arranging it for the most visually appealing presentation.
