Thrifty Croissant Sandwich
A Delicious Croissant Sandwich Made with Leftover Ingredients
In these times of rising prices, it can be tough to buy groceries. This sandwich is made using leftover ingredients from delivery meals! We’ve used green vegetables from shabu-shabu, sauce from chicken, apples received as a holiday gift, and cheese from the fridge. Create a delightful snack or a light meal by creatively transforming these everyday ingredients.
Ingredients
- 1 Croissant
- 2 Leaves of Ssam Cabbage (or similar leafy green)
- 1 Slice of Cheddar Cheese
- 2 Slices of Ham
- 1/4 Apple
- 15g Honey Mustard Sauce
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, carefully slice the croissant horizontally, making a deep cut but not all the way through, so it opens like a book. Spread the 15g of honey mustard sauce evenly on the inside of both halves of the croissant. Trim the tough stems from the 2 leaves of ssam cabbage and arrange the leaves inside the croissant. The crisp texture of the cabbage will add a refreshing crunch.
Step 2
Cut the slice of cheddar cheese into two pieces and place them over the cabbage leaves. The cheese will melt slightly, binding the ingredients together and adding a savory richness.
Step 3
Wash the apple thoroughly, then thinly slice 1/4 of it, including the skin. Arrange the apple slices attractively on top of the cheese. The apple’s fresh sweetness and crisp bite will provide a delightful contrast.
Step 4
Fold the 2 slices of ham in half diagonally to create a triangle shape and tuck them into the sandwich. The savory flavor of the ham complements the other ingredients beautifully.
Step 5
Enjoy your creatively assembled croissant sandwich with a warm cup of coffee or your favorite beverage. It’s a simple yet satisfying meal or snack that perfectly utilizes leftover ingredients!
