- A pinch of black pepper

- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- A pinch of black pepper
- 3 Tbsp water
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare the star of our dish: the chicken breast. Rinse the chicken breasts thoroughly under cold water. Pat them dry with a paper towel. Make 1-2 cm deep slits in the thicker part of the chicken breast, then gently press down with your hand to flatten it slightly; this helps it cook more evenly. Now, let’s season the chicken. Sprinkle coarse salt and black pepper evenly on both sides, and let it marinate for about 10 minutes. While the chicken is marinating, let’s prepare the vegetables to accompany the steak. Thinly slice the garlic, halve the cherry tomatoes, or cut a regular tomato into bite-sized wedges. Trim the tough ends of the asparagus spears and cut them into 2 or 3 pieces. Feel free to use other vegetables you have on hand, such as onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, or broccoli.
Step 2
Next, we’ll make the delicious teriyaki sauce that will elevate the flavor of our chicken breast steak. Measure out 2.5 tablespoons of soy sauce for depth, 1 tablespoon of sugar for sweetness, and 1 tablespoon of minced garlic for aroma. Add 3 tablespoons of water, and finally, a pinch of black pepper. Stir everything together with a spoon until well combined. Having the sauce ready beforehand will make the cooking process much smoother.
Step 3
Now, it’s time to cook the chicken breast. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil. Once the oil is shimmering, carefully place the seasoned chicken breasts into the pan. It’s a good idea to sear the chicken over medium-high heat initially to lock in the juices.
Step 4
Cook the chicken, flipping it occasionally to prevent sticking, for about 8-10 minutes, or until fully cooked through. The cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the chicken breast, so ensure it’s cooked internally. When the chicken is nearly done, add the sliced garlic and halved asparagus spears to the pan and cook them alongside the chicken until lightly browned. Stir the vegetables occasionally to prevent the garlic from burning. The vegetables will absorb the delicious juices and flavors from the chicken as they cook.
Step 5
Once the chicken and vegetables are beautifully cooked, carefully remove the cooked vegetables from the pan and set them aside on a plate. Pour the prepared teriyaki sauce into the same skillet. As the sauce begins to bubble, reduce the heat slightly and let the chicken simmer in the sauce, flipping it for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken with a glossy sheen. Finally, arrange the chicken breast steak attractively on a serving plate, artfully place the grilled vegetables alongside, and your restaurant-quality chicken breast steak is ready to be enjoyed! You can also serve it with a side of salad greens if desired.
