A perfect dish for a quick and satisfying meal, this is an inspired version of Egg Benedict with a simple sauce. It’s easy to make and delicious!
Main Ingredients
- 1 English muffin
- 1 slice of cheese
- 1 slice of ham
- 1 poached egg
Sauce Ingredients
- 0.5 Tbsp whole grain mustard
- 2 tsp butter
- 0.5 Tbsp whole grain mustard
- 2 tsp butter
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, slice the English muffin in half horizontally. Layer the ham and cheese on top of each muffin half. Place the prepared ham and cheese English muffins in an air fryer and cook at 165°C (329°F) for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the bread is warm and the cheese is melted. You can adjust the cooking time slightly based on your preference for a warmer or crispier base.
Step 2
While the muffins are warming, let’s prepare the sauce. In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the 2 tsp of butter by microwaving for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Once melted, add the 0.5 Tbsp of whole grain mustard and stir until well combined. This creates a flavorful sauce that complements the sandwich beautifully.
Step 3
Carefully place the prepared poached egg on top of the warm ham and cheese English muffin. The soft, runny yolk will add a rich and creamy texture to every bite.
Step 4
Finally, drizzle the delicious whole grain mustard sauce you just made over the poached egg. Your delightful Ham, Cheese, and Egg Open-faced Sandwich is now ready to be enjoyed! It’s a visually appealing and incredibly tasty option for breakfast or a light brunch.
