Shrimp and Zucchini Stir-fry for Baby
Perfect for 18-Month-Olds! A Savory Shrimp and Zucchini Stir-fry Recipe
Introducing a healthy and delicious shrimp and zucchini stir-fry recipe, perfect for your 18-month-old baby. The subtle umami from the dried shrimp combined with the natural sweetness of zucchini creates a magical side dish that will have your baby devouring their rice.
Main Ingredients
- 1/4 zucchini (for one baby serving)
- 2 Tbsp dried shrimp (store-bought)
- 100ml water
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the dried shrimp. You can easily find these at most grocery stores or online. Wash the zucchini thoroughly, then cut it into small, bite-sized pieces or half-moon shapes that are easy for your baby to pick up and chew. Cutting them not too thick will help them cook evenly.
Step 2
Now, heat a frying pan. Once the pan is warm, add the cut zucchini and 100ml of water. The zucchini will soften as it cooks in the water, and this will also prevent the dried shrimp from burning when added.
Step 3
Stir-fry the zucchini over medium heat. Once the water has reduced by about half, add the 2 tablespoons of dried shrimp and continue to stir-fry together. A savory aroma will start to fill the air as the shrimp cooks. Stir well to combine the zucchini and shrimp.
Step 4
Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue to cook until most of the remaining water has evaporated. Be careful not to overcook, which can cause it to burn; aim for a slightly moist consistency. This will result in a tender and delicious shrimp and zucchini stir-fry. Let it cool slightly before serving to your baby.
