Sausage and Cabbage Stir-fry
Super Simple & Speedy Sausage and Cabbage Stir-fry.
Eating sausages alone can be quite salty and sometimes you crave some vegetables. Adding cabbage to this dish makes it healthier, balances the saltiness, and offers a delightful texture. It’s a fantastic pairing for a satisfying meal!
Main Ingredients
- 2 Sausages (choose your favorite type)
- 1/8 Medium Cabbage
Seasoning
- Pinch of Black Pepper
- 1/2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- Pinch of Black Pepper
- 1/2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, slice the sausages. You can cut them into half-moon shapes or round, flat pieces, similar to how you’d slice them for ‘tteokguk’ (rice cake soup). Aim for a thickness that provides a good bite; avoid slicing them too thinly. You can also cut them into bite-sized pieces suitable for children.
Step 2
Wash the cabbage thoroughly, then cut it into thick strips, about 1 cm wide. If you cut them too thinly, they will become limp when stir-fried. Cutting them to a moderate thickness will help maintain a nice, crisp texture.
Step 3
Place the sliced sausages into a heated pan. You don’t need to add extra oil as the sausages will release their own fat as they cook. Start with medium heat.
Step 4
Gently stir-fry the sausages until they are golden brown on both sides. This process enhances their flavor and makes them even more delicious. Cooking them slowly over medium heat is ideal.
Step 5
Once the sausages begin to brown nicely, push them to one side of the pan. Add the minced garlic and the thick cabbage strips to the empty space and stir-fry over high heat for a short time. As the cabbage starts to soften slightly, add the soy sauce and black pepper. Quickly toss everything together to ensure the ingredients are well combined.
Step 6
Continue to stir-fry for about another minute, allowing the soy sauce and pepper to coat all the ingredients evenly. Transfer the finished sausage and cabbage stir-fry to a serving plate. This dish is perfect to enjoy with a warm bowl of rice!
