Ingredients

  • 1 bowl of cooked rice
  • 1 piece of Tteokgalbi (Korean grilled short ribs)
  • Bell peppers (red, yellow, etc.)
  • Green pepper
  • Broccoli
  • Onion
  • 1 Tbsp cooking oil
  • Salt
  • Sesame seeds

Cooking Instructions

Take one piece of Tteokgalbi from the freezer beforehand to thaw. This will make it easier to prepare for stir-frying.

Finely chop the Tteokgalbi and any leftover vegetables from the refrigerator that you’d like to add to your fried rice. Aim for bite-sized pieces that will integrate well with the rice.

Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil. Add the Tteokgalbi and stir-fry until lightly browned. Then, add the chopped vegetables and stir-fry quickly until they are tender-crisp.

Season with salt, remembering that the Tteokgalbi is already seasoned, so you’ll likely need less salt than usual. Finally, sprinkle with sesame seeds for a nutty aroma and flavor. Your delicious Tteokgalbi fried rice is ready!
