Ingredients
  • 200ml Heavy cream, chilled
  • 3 packs Oreo or similar chocolate sandwich cookies
  • 20-30g Sugar
  • 200g Cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • Cake sheet (store-bought or homemade)
  • Bottle or dessert cup

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, ensure your cream cheese is at room temperature for easy creaming, and your heavy cream is well-chilled. Having your ingredients prepped makes the assembly process much smoother.

Step 2

In a bowl, place the softened cream cheese. Gradually add the sugar, a little at a time, and beat with a whisk or electric mixer until smooth and creamy. It’s important to achieve a lump-free consistency.

Step 3

If you’re using a cake sheet, cut it into pieces that fit your bottle or cup. I cut mine into bite-sized cubes for easy layering. You can also cut them to match the shape of your container.

Step 4

Crush the Oreo cookies. You can place them in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin or your hands. If you find the cookie cream too sweet or prefer a different texture, you can scrape out the cream before crushing. I kept the cream in for extra flavor. Crushing them into various sizes adds a nice textural contrast.

Step 5

Pour the chilled heavy cream into a separate bowl. Add about 10-20g of sugar (adjust to your sweetness preference). Whip the cream until it reaches soft to medium peaks (about 80-90% whipped). Over-whipping can make it difficult to mix later, so be mindful. Firmly whipped cream provides structure.

Step 6

To the creamed cream cheese, gradually add about three-quarters of the whipped cream. Gently fold or mix it in, little by little. This gradual addition helps maintain the airy texture of the whipped cream and prevents it from becoming dense.

Step 7

This step is a continuation of step 5. Adding the whipped cream in stages ensures that the air incorporated during whipping is preserved, resulting in a lighter, fluffier cream mixture. Use a spatula to gently combine.

Step 8

Now, let’s create the Oreo Cream Cheese filling! Add the crushed Oreo cookies to the cream cheese and whipped cream mixture. Stir gently until everything is well combined. You’ll have a delicious, rich filling with delightful cookie bits.

Step 9

Begin layering your bottle cake. Start by placing a layer of the prepared cake sheet pieces at the bottom of your bottle or dessert cup.

Step 10

Next, spoon or pipe the Oreo cream cheese mixture over the cake layer, filling about half of the container.

Step 11

Add another layer of crushed Oreo cookies on top of the cream cheese filling. This adds a lovely crunch and intensifies the Oreo flavor.

Step 12

Continue layering with more Oreo cream cheese mixture, and finish with the remaining whipped cream on top. Smooth the top surface for a neat finish. You can pipe it for a decorative look.

Step 13

For decoration, take any remaining chocolate cake scraps or a few whole Oreo cookies and finely crush them into crumbs using a sieve or food processor. This will be used to garnish the top.

Step 14

A handy tip for finer crumbs: briefly freeze the cake or cookies before crushing. This makes them more brittle and easier to break down into a smooth powder.

Step 15

Sprinkle the prepared Oreo crumbs over the top of the cake. Decorate with whole Oreos, other cookies, or small edible decorations as desired. Your beautiful, homemade Oreo Bottle Cake is now complete! Chill before serving for the best flavor and texture.
