Silky Smooth Milk Pudding
Super Easy Milk Pudding Recipe – Inspired by Baek Jong-won!
Craving something sweet but can’t go to a cafe? Make this incredibly simple milk pudding at home! This recipe is inspired by Baek Jong-won’s method, making it perfect for beginners. Beyond the classic milk pudding, you can also easily create aromatic milk tea pudding by steeping tea bags, or a rich chocolate pudding using chocolate milk.
Basic Ingredients
- 1.5 cups Milk (approx. 300ml)
- 2 Tbsp White Sugar (approx. 30g)
- 2 sheets Gelatin (approx. 4g)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Soak the 2 sheets of gelatin in cold water for about 5 minutes until they become soft and pliable. Ensure they are fully submerged.
Step 2
Pour 1.5 cups of milk into a saucepan and add 2 tablespoons of white sugar. Stir gently to ensure the sugar dissolves without clumping.
Step 3
Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Once dissolved, squeeze out any excess water from the soaked gelatin and add it to the milk mixture. Continue stirring gently and cook for about 2 minutes until the gelatin is fully incorporated. Be careful not to let it boil over.
Step 4
Carefully pour the warm pudding mixture into your prepared glass jars or ramekins. It’s best to fill them about 70-80% full. Allow them to cool down slightly at room temperature, then cover with plastic wrap or lids and refrigerate for 4-5 hours until set. Your delightful milk pudding is ready!
Step 5
To make milk tea pudding, steep 1-2 tea bags in the milk mixture before heating, following step 2. Remove the tea bags after they have infused their flavor. Then, proceed with the rest of the steps to create a fragrant milk tea pudding.
Step 6
For a delicious chocolate pudding, simply substitute the white milk with 1.5 cups of chocolate milk. Adjust the sugar to your preference, as chocolate milk is already sweet; you might want to use about 1.5 tablespoons of sugar, or even less. The gelatin and cooking process remain the same.
