Ingredients
- 1/3 head of fresh broccoli
- 1/3 block of soft tofu
Seasoning (Adjust salt to your baby’s taste!)
- 1 tsp salt (use a very small amount or omit for younger babies)
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds
- 1 tsp salt (use a very small amount or omit for younger babies)
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash the fresh broccoli thoroughly under running water. Bring a pot of water to a boil, add half a teaspoon of salt and half a teaspoon of vinegar, and blanch the broccoli for no more than 1 minute. This will help maintain its vibrant green color and minimize nutrient loss. Be careful not to overcook it, as it can become mushy.
Step 2
Next, lightly blanch the tofu. Place the tofu in the boiling water and cook for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Blanching the tofu makes it softer and removes any unwanted odors, making it more pleasant for babies to eat.
Step 3
Once blanched, rinse the broccoli under cold water to cool it down. After rinsing, carefully trim off the tough stem parts with a knife. Finely chop the tender florets. It’s important to chop them as small as possible so your baby can eat them easily.
Step 4
Similarly, let the blanched tofu cool slightly, then use a knife to mash and finely chop it. Try to chop the tofu to a similar size as the broccoli for a better texture when mixed together.
Step 5
In a mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped broccoli and tofu. Now it’s time to add the seasonings. Add 1 teaspoon of salt (use a very small amount or consider omitting it for very young babies) and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil for a savory aroma.
Step 6
Using a spoon, gently mix the chopped vegetables and tofu with the seasonings. Mash the tofu slightly as you mix to help combine the ingredients smoothly and create a tender texture. Blend everything together so there are no large chunks.
Step 7
Once all the ingredients are well combined with the fragrant seasonings, sprinkle in the toasted sesame seeds and toss lightly to mix. The nutty flavor of the sesame seeds will further enhance your baby’s enjoyment.
Step 8
And there you have it! A delicious and nutritious Broccoli Tofu Salad, perfect for your baby’s healthy mealtime. Enjoy!
