Ingredients
  • 1 fresh cucumber
  • 1-2 pinches of salt (for salting)
  • A little toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, wash the cucumber thoroughly. Then, thinly slice it into bite-sized pieces, about 0.5 cm thick, suitable for a baby’s enjoyment. Place the sliced cucumber into a ziplock bag or an airtight container. Add 1-2 pinches of salt and mix well to draw out moisture and soften the cucumber. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to cure.

Step 2

After 10 minutes, you’ll notice that the cucumber has released a lot of water. Gently press the cucumber slices using kitchen paper towels to squeeze out as much excess water as possible. Removing this moisture is key to preventing the salad from becoming watery and maintaining a crisp texture.

Step 3

Transfer the squeezed cucumber to a bowl or container. Add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil for a nutty aroma and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds, according to your preference. Gently toss everything together. Your simple and delicious cucumber salad, perfect for little ones, is now ready! The natural sweetness of the cucumber combined with the nutty sesame oil makes it incredibly appealing to babies without needing any extra seasoning.
