Hello everyone, this is Son-ae! 🙂 Today, I’ve made delicious cheddar cheese cookies using cheddar cheese, which is easily available in stores, making them simple to bake at home! I used a food processor, but if you don’t have one, you can easily make them by hand with a scraper or even in a blender! +_+ These cookies offer a delightful balance of salty and sweet, with a satisfyingly crisp texture.

Cheddar Cheese Cookies
  • Cake flour 110g
  • Yellow cheese powder 20g (adds a savory cheddar flavor)
  • Cheddar cheese 2 slices (finely chopped or melted)
  • Unsalted butter 80g (softened at room temperature)
  • Sugar 55g
  • Egg 1/2 (lightly beaten)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

In a food processor or blender bowl, combine the cake flour, yellow cheese powder, and sugar. Pulse a few times to lightly mix them together. This ensures the dry ingredients are evenly distributed before adding the wet ingredients.

Step 2

Next, add the softened butter and the 2 slices of cheddar cheese to the bowl. Process until the mixture is well combined and resembles coarse crumbs. The butter shouldn’t be fully melted, but rather incorporated into the dry ingredients.

Step 3

Pour in the lightly beaten egg (about half of a whole egg) and continue processing until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the cookies tough. Stop as soon as the ingredients just come together.

Step 4

The dough should now have a consistency similar to soft-serve ice cream! (Doesn’t it look like ice cream? haha) Transfer this dough into a piping bag fitted with your desired tip. A star tip is used here, but feel free to use any shape you like!

Step 5

Pipe the cookie dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat, creating your desired shapes and sizes. Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C (340°F) for approximately 15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.

Finished! Your beautiful, golden cheddar cheese cookies are ready to be enjoyed. Let them cool slightly before indulging in their delightful crispiness and savory cheesy flavor. Perfect with a cup of coffee or tea!
