Ingredients
  • 1 small packet of crab sticks (imitation crab meat)
  • 2 fresh eggs
  • 2 bowls of cooked rice
  • 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 Tbsp cooking oil
  • 1/2 stalk of green onion
  • A pinch of sesame oil
  • A pinch of black pepper

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare your ingredients. Shred the crab sticks lengthwise to mimic the texture of real crab meat. In a separate bowl, lightly beat the eggs with a fork or chopsticks. Finely chop the green onion.

Step 2

Now, let’s build the flavor base for our fried rice. Heat about 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a frying pan or wok over medium heat. Add the chopped green onions and sauté until fragrant, creating a delicious scallion oil. Be careful not to burn the green onions.

Step 3

Once the scallion oil is aromatic, pour in the beaten eggs. As the eggs begin to set, gently scramble them until they are about 70% cooked. Add the shredded crab sticks to the pan and stir-fry them together with the scrambled eggs. Mix gently to avoid breaking up the crab meat too much.

Step 4

When the scrambled eggs and crab sticks are nicely combined, add the cooked rice to the pan. Break up any clumps of rice with your spatula and stir-fry thoroughly, ensuring the rice is evenly distributed and coated with the other ingredients. Stir-frying well helps to achieve a fluffy texture.

Step 5

With the rice well incorporated, it’s time to add the savory element. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce around the edges of the pan and stir-fry quickly to coat the rice evenly. Add a pinch of black pepper, about two twists from your grinder, to enhance the aroma and flavor.

Step 6

Finally, a touch of richness to finish. Turn off the heat and drizzle a small amount of sesame oil over the fried rice. Gently toss everything together to distribute the nutty aroma. This step adds a wonderful finishing touch.

Step 7

And there you have it – delicious and fragrant crab stick fried rice, ready to be enjoyed! Serve it hot for the best taste. Enjoy this simple yet satisfying homemade meal!
