Crispy & Tender Smoked Duck Breast in the Air Fryer
Deliciously Enjoying Smoked Duck Breast with an Air Fryer
I tried cooking smoked duck breast in the air fryer. This method yields a wonderfully juicy and flavorful result with a delightfully crispy exterior, perfect for a quick and impressive meal.
Main Ingredients
- 1 pack Smoked Duck Breast (pre-cooked, approx. 300-400g)
- 1 medium Onion
- 1/2 or 1 Enoki Mushroom
Dipping Sauce
- Mustard Sauce (to taste)
- Mustard Sauce (to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Begin by preparing your vegetables. Wash the onion, peel it, and slice it into strips about 0.5 cm thick. For the enoki mushrooms, trim off the very bottom of the stem, then gently rinse them under cool running water. Carefully pull them apart into smaller clumps with your fingers.
Step 2
Now, let’s layer the ingredients in the air fryer basket. Start by placing the sliced onions at the bottom; this prevents the duck from sticking and adds a lovely sweetness as it cooks. Arrange the smoked duck breast slices evenly on top of the onions. Finally, spread the prepared enoki mushrooms over the duck.
Step 3
Place the layered ingredients into your air fryer and set the temperature to 200℃ (390℉) for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, carefully remove the basket and flip the smoked duck breast. Continue cooking at 200℃ (390℉) for another 5 minutes. The exact cooking time may vary depending on the amount of duck and your air fryer model, but typically 15-20 minutes total is sufficient.
Step 4
About halfway through the cooking process, around 7-8 minutes in, open the air fryer to check on the enoki mushrooms. Mushrooms cook very quickly and can burn easily. If you notice them starting to brown or crisp up too much, it’s best to remove them at this stage to prevent them from burning. This also helps maintain their delicate texture.
Step 5
With the enoki mushrooms removed, continue air frying the onions and smoked duck breast. After flipping them, cook for the remaining 5 minutes to ensure the duck is beautifully browned and heated through.
Step 6
And there you have it – a perfectly cooked smoked duck breast! Arrange the crispy duck, softened onions, and the separately cooked enoki mushrooms on a plate. Serve immediately with mustard sauce for dipping, if desired. Enjoy this delicious and easy air fryer meal!
