Main Ingredients
- 1/2 block Tofu (approx. 150-200g)
- 1 Tbsp Finely Chopped Scallion
Sweet and Sour Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Oligosaccharide (or corn syrup)
- 1 Tbsp Vinegar
- 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Oligosaccharide (or corn syrup)
- 1 Tbsp Vinegar
- 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes, about 2cm each. Arrange the cut tofu nicely on a plate and place it in the refrigerator to chill. This step helps the tofu firm up, preventing it from breaking apart and giving it a wonderfully firm texture.
Step 2
In a small bowl, combine 1 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp oligosaccharide, 1 Tbsp vinegar, and 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds. Stir well with a spoon until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed. You can substitute corn syrup for oligosaccharide if preferred, and feel free to adjust the sweetness or tanginess to your liking. Ensure everything is well combined.
Step 3
Take the chilled tofu out of the refrigerator and keep it on the plate. Sprinkle the finely chopped scallions evenly over the tofu. Finally, drizzle about 2 Tbsp of the prepared sweet and sour sauce over the tofu. Your refreshing and tangy chilled tofu is now ready to be enjoyed! It’s best served immediately. Enjoy this delicious side dish with your rice!
