Ingredients
  • 4 Morning rolls
  • 50g Salted butter
  • Coarse salt, a pinch (approx. 3-4 grains each)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the salted butter for each of the 4 morning rolls. Approximately 10g of butter is needed per roll.

Step 2

Soften the 10g of butter by leaving it at room temperature, or melt it in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Be careful not to overheat it.

Step 3

Using a knife, make a cross-shaped incision on the bottom of each morning roll. This allows the melted butter to seep deep into the bread, resulting in a richer flavor.

Step 4

Carefully slice the sides of the morning roll with a knife. Do not cut the bread completely in half; aim to make an incision about two-thirds of the way through the bread, creating an opening.

Step 5

Generously fill the slit in the bread with about 10g of the prepared butter. As the butter melts, it will infuse the bread with its delicious flavor.

Step 6

Using a pastry brush, evenly coat the top surface of the morning roll with the melted butter. This buttery coating will help the bread become extra crispy.

Step 7

After brushing with butter, gently place 3-4 coarse salt crystals on top of each roll. The saltiness will perfectly complement the richness of the butter, creating a wonderful taste sensation.

Step 8

Now, bake in the air fryer at 170°C (338°F) for approximately 5 minutes. Air fryer models vary in performance, so we recommend setting the temperature to 170°C and adjusting the time. Many recipes suggest 180°C, but our air fryer tends to burn the bread at that temperature. We found that 170°C yields the best results. Check the bread after 5 minutes and add a little more time if needed to achieve your desired level of crispiness.

Step 9

Your delicious morning roll salt bread, baked to perfection in the air fryer, is now ready! Enjoy the rich, salty flavor of the salted butter. Remember, using salted butter is key to experiencing the authentic taste of this bread!
