Baked Brie Cheese with Nuts and Honey
The Perfect Wine Appetizer: Baked Brie Cheese!
A delightful baked brie cheese, perfect for pairing with wine! We haven’t made this in a while. Brie cheese is known for its deep, creamy flavor and is often favored by women. It’s sometimes called the ‘Queen of Cheeses.’ A slice of cheese with coffee can help relieve fatigue. It has a very smooth and pleasant texture, covered in white mold. Because it spoils easily, it’s best to buy small quantities and store it wrapped in plastic wrap in the refrigerator.
Ingredients
- 1 wheel of Brie cheese
- 2 packs of nuts (such as walnuts, almonds, pecans, or your preference)
- Honey to taste
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Carefully unwrap the Brie cheese. Typically, Brie is wrapped in parchment paper, which can be left on for baking.
Step 2
Using a cheese knife or even a fork, gently poke holes all over the top surface of the Brie. Aim for about 8 sections or simply make several indentations. This step is crucial for allowing the honey to seep into the cheese, enhancing its flavor penetration.
Step 3
Generously drizzle honey over the entire surface of the Brie cheese. While ‘to taste’ is mentioned, don’t be shy with the honey – it truly complements the richness of the cheese. For an alternative approach, you can also bake one side of the cheese first and then drizzle with honey.
Step 4
Arrange your chosen nuts over the honey-drizzled Brie. If you’re using larger nuts like whole walnuts or pecans, consider breaking them into smaller, bite-sized pieces for easier eating and better distribution.
Step 5
Now it’s time to bake! You can use an air fryer, oven, or a skillet. If using a skillet, cook over low heat until the bottom of the cheese feels soft and yielding. If using an air fryer, preheat to 180°C (350°F) and bake for about 5 minutes, or until the cheese is beautifully melted and slightly golden.
