I wanted a simple snack to enjoy with my coffee at home, and I discovered this recipe! It’s perfect for kids too because it’s so easy to make. The delicate balance of sweet and savory creates an irresistible flavor.

- 1 slice of bread
- 1 egg
Seasoning & Others
- 1 Tbsp mayonnaise
- 1/2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 Tbsp mayonnaise

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Tip: Parsley flakes are optional but make a lovely garnish!

Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise evenly over one side of the bread slice. Ensure you cover the surface thoroughly to avoid a soggy bottom.

Sprinkle 1/2 tablespoon of sugar evenly over the mayonnaise. Feel free to adjust the amount of sugar if you prefer it sweeter.
Step 4
Pipe or spread mayonnaise around the edges of the bread to create a dam. This will help contain the egg within the bread.

Carefully crack one egg into the center of the mayonnaise dam. Sprinkle a pinch of salt over the yolk for seasoning.

Important! To prevent the egg yolk from exploding in the microwave, gently poke it with a fork or skewer to break it.

Breaking the yolk is crucial to prevent an egg explosion inside the microwave. It also helps the egg cook more evenly. Don’t skip this step!
