Ingredients- 10 fresh button mushrooms
- 1/3 onion
- 1/4 carrot
- 0.5 bell pepper (any color)
- 3 slices bacon
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 pinch salt
- A little black pepper
- 1 handful mozzarella cheese (adjust to taste)
- A little parsley flakes (for garnish)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Gently wash the fresh button mushrooms under running water and pat them dry. Carefully twist and remove the stems. This makes it easier to stuff them later.
Step 2
Finely mince the onion, carrot, and bell pepper, discarding seeds. Also, finely chop the bacon. Mincing the vegetables finely will ensure they cook evenly and have a pleasant texture when mixed with the mushroom filling.
Step 3
Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a heated pan over medium-low heat. Add the minced onion, carrot, bell pepper, and bacon. Sauté until the vegetables become translucent and the bacon is lightly browned. Season with a pinch of salt and a little black pepper to enhance the natural flavors of the ingredients.
Step 4
Using a spoon, firmly pack the sautéed vegetable and bacon mixture into the hollowed-out mushrooms. Stuff them generously, as the mushrooms will release moisture and shrink slightly during cooking.
Step 5
Generously top each stuffed mushroom with mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle with parsley flakes for a beautiful garnish and added flavor.
Step 6
Bake in a preheated oven (at 180°C / 350°F) or an air fryer for about 7-8 minutes, or until the mozzarella cheese is melted and golden brown. Adjust the baking time according to your oven’s specifications.
Step 7
Your warm and delicious Baked Mushroom with Vegetables and Cheese is ready! It’s a dish that’s perfect for housewarming parties, a satisfying snack, or a healthy option to boost your immunity during changing seasons.
