Zucchini Bacon Rolls That Even Picky Eaters Will Love
For children who are picky eaters, we’ve made zucchini bacon rolls by wrapping zucchini with bacon, which kids love. The savory bacon flavor makes even the reluctant vegetable disappear!
Main Ingredients- 240g Bacon
- 1 medium Zucchini
- A little cooking oil (for frying)
Sauce- 3 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1/3 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 2 Tbsp Corn Syrup (or Honey)
- A little Sesame Seeds (for garnish)

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash and prepare the zucchini thoroughly. Cut the zucchini into about 3 equal sections lengthwise, and then slice each section into 8 strips. Try to cut them to a length slightly shorter than the width of your bacon strips. This will help create a beautiful rolled appearance later.
Step 2
Take a strip of zucchini and carefully wrap a slice of bacon around it, rolling from one end to the other. Ensure the bacon wraps snugly around the zucchini to help it hold its shape during cooking.
Step 3
Continue rolling bacon around each prepared zucchini strip. As you roll each one, you’ll see them taking on a lovely shape, promising a delicious result.
Step 4
Heat a lightly oiled frying pan over medium-low heat. Carefully place the rolled zucchini and bacon seam-side down in the pan first. This initial sear helps to seal the bacon and prevent the rolls from unraveling as they cook.
Step 5
Gently turn the rolls to cook all sides until they are beautifully golden brown and the bacon is crispy. The natural fats from the bacon will render, cooking the zucchini and adding wonderful flavor.
Step 6
Once the rolls are nicely browned, you can either push them to the side of the pan or temporarily remove them. Using the residual heat of the pan, add the soy sauce, minced garlic, and corn syrup. Quickly stir them together to create a glaze. Be careful not to burn the sauce.
Step 7
Return the cooked zucchini bacon rolls to the pan and toss them gently in the sauce, or simply spoon the sauce over them.
