Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp White Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1/2 Tbsp Hot Mustard (Korean Mustard)
  • 3 Tbsp Vinegar (White Vinegar recommended)
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 tsp Soy Sauce
  • 1/3 tsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, combine 1 tablespoon of finely minced garlic and 1/2 tablespoon of hot mustard (Korean mustard) in a bowl. Adjust the amount of mustard to your preference for spiciness.

Step 1

Step 2

Next, carefully add 2 tablespoons of white balsamic vinegar. Its mild sweetness and subtle flavor are perfect for cold dishes. White balsamic vinegar has a lighter color compared to regular balsamic, making it ideal for visually appealing cold salads.

Step 2

Step 3

Measure and add 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice to enhance the refreshing tanginess. If you don’t have lemon juice, lime juice can be a good substitute.

Step 3

Step 4

Add 3 tablespoons of white vinegar to provide a fundamental sourness and 1 tablespoon of sugar for a clean sweetness. Feel free to adjust the sugar level according to your taste.

Step 4

Step 5

Stir in 1 teaspoon of soy sauce for a boost of umami. Be careful not to add too much, as it can darken the sauce’s color. A small amount is key.

Step 5

Step 6

Finally, add 1/3 teaspoon of salt to season. Whisk everything together thoroughly with a whisk or spoon until all ingredients are well combined and the sauce is smooth. Ensure there are no lumps.

Step 6

Step 7

Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning by adding more vinegar, sugar, or salt to match your personal preference. Achieving the perfect balance between sour, sweet, and salty is the secret to this delicious sauce.

Step 7

Step 8

This finished white balsamic cold noodle sauce pairs wonderfully with any kind of cold dish. Serve it with various vegetables, seafood, or meat cold salads to elevate their flavors!
