Warm and Delicious Air Fryer Roasted Chestnuts
Easy Roasted Chestnut Recipe Using Pre-Peeled Chestnuts for the Chuseok Holiday
The season for chestnuts is here! I often reminisce about playing under chestnut trees as a child, picking up fallen nuts. Now, my father brings home fresh chestnuts from our countryside home. While buying unpeeled chestnuts and having them machine-peeled at the market saves time, they aren’t always perfectly clean. Since peeling them one by one at home can be quite laborious, and I prefer a completely clean peel without the hassle, I re-hand-peeled them at home after purchasing. (Though starting with hard-to-peel chestnuts can be tough!). I then made roasted chestnuts in the air fryer with these pre-peeled nuts. Usually, roasted chestnuts are made with unpeeled nuts, but using pre-peeled ones makes them much easier to eat. Let me show you how to make delicious air fryer roasted chestnuts right away!
Ingredients- 500g peeled chestnuts
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Place the peeled chestnuts in an air fryer-safe pan or basket. Ensure the chestnuts are spread out in a single layer for even cooking. This allows the heat to circulate properly, resulting in perfectly roasted nuts.
Step 2
Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (390°F). Add the peeled chestnuts to the preheated air fryer and roast for about 20 minutes. It’s a good idea to shake the basket or pan once halfway through the cooking time to ensure uniform roasting. Cooking time may vary slightly depending on the size of the chestnuts and your air fryer model, so keep an eye on them.
Step 3
After 20 minutes, when the chestnuts are golden brown and emit a sweet aroma, carefully remove them from the air fryer. Enjoy your warm, freshly roasted chestnuts immediately! They will have a slightly chewy exterior and a soft, sweet interior – a truly delightful treat.
