  • 10 Cherry Tomatoes
  • 1/4 Carrot
  • 1/4 Onion
  • 100ml Water
  • Cooking Oil, as needed
  • Pinch of Black Pepper

Celery and Nut Stir-Fry
  • 100g Mixed Nuts (e.g., walnuts, almonds, cashews)
  • 300g Celery
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Cooking Oil, as needed

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Thoroughly wash the celery under running water. You can peel the tough outer skin with a vegetable peeler for a more tender texture. Cut the celery stalks into 3-4cm lengths. Julienne the carrot and onion into similar lengths as the celery.

Step 2

Wash the cherry tomatoes, remove the stems, and cut them into quarters or halves depending on their size. Heat 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a frying pan, and first stir-fry the julienned carrot and onion to release their aroma.

Step 3

Once the vegetables are slightly tender, add 100ml of water and let it simmer over medium-low heat until the liquid reduces. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Finally, add the prepared cherry tomatoes and stir gently to combine. Be careful not to overcook the tomatoes until they become too mushy.

Step 4

Wash the celery under running water, then peel off the tough outer skin. Slice the stalks diagonally into 3-4cm lengths. You can also cut them slightly thicker for a more satisfying bite.

Step 5

Heat 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a frying pan over high heat. Add the sliced celery and stir-fry quickly to maintain its crisp texture. It’s important not to overcook it. Once the celery is slightly tender, season lightly with salt.

Step 6

When the celery is cooked to your liking, add the mixed nuts and stir-fry together briefly. Nuts can burn if cooked for too long, so stir for about a minute or less, just enough to combine with the celery and add a nutty flavor. Finish the dish.
