Main Ingredients

  • 1 piece Chicken Breast (approx. 150-200g)
  • 1 block Tofu (approx. 300-400g, firm or silken tofu both work)
  • 1 pack Store-bought Inari Sushi Kit (for 28 pieces, use for 14-28 pieces without rice)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the chicken breast. Place the chicken breast in a pot, cover it with water, and bring to a boil. Once boiling, add the chicken breast and cook until thoroughly done, about 15-20 minutes. This ensures it’s cooked through and moist.

Remove the cooked chicken breast from the pot and let it cool down slightly until it’s safe to handle. Be careful not to burn yourself as it will be hot.

Once the chicken breast has cooled a bit, finely chop it or shred it with a fork into bite-sized pieces. This makes it easier to mix with the tofu and stuff into the Inari pockets.

Prepare the tofu. Lightly blanch the block of tofu in boiling water for about 1-2 minutes. This helps remove any beany smell and makes it easier to squeeze out water. After blanching, drain the tofu without rinsing it immediately. Use a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth to squeeze out as much water as possible. Once squeezed dry, place the tofu in a bowl and mash it with a fork or a masher until smooth and crumbly.

Now, let’s make the Inari sushi filling. Combine the mashed tofu and the prepared chicken breast in a bowl. Add the 2 seasoning packets and 1 vegetable sachet from the Inari sushi kit. Mix everything thoroughly until well combined. You can taste and adjust the seasoning if needed, or add a dash of sesame oil or pepper for extra flavor. Carefully stuff the Inari pockets with this tofu and chicken breast mixture, pressing it in gently. Finally, sprinkle the remaining vegetable sachet over the top of the sushi for a beautiful finish.
