Main Ingredients- 1/2 cucumber
- 1 chicken breast steak
- 1 serving cooked rice
- 2 Tbsp sweet corn
- 1 seasoned seaweed sheet (gim)
- 1 egg
Special Bibimbap Sauce- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp perilla oil (deulgireum)
- 1 Tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 Tbsp oligo syrup
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp perilla oil (deulgireum)
- 1 Tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 Tbsp oligo syrup
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thoroughly wash the fresh cucumber. Slice it lengthwise (into quarters if it’s a large cucumber), then finely chop it into bite-sized pieces. Prepare it for mixing.
Step 2
Take the frozen chicken breast steak and remove the packaging. Microwave it for about 2 minutes to defrost. Once defrosted, cut the chicken breast steak into pieces roughly the same size as the cucumber.
Step 3
Place one serving of warm cooked rice into a bowl. Arrange the prepared chicken breast steak and the finely chopped cucumber attractively on top of the rice.
Step 4
Next, add about 2 tablespoons of sweet corn. This will add a lovely sweetness and pop of texture that will stimulate your appetite.
Step 5
Cut the seasoned seaweed sheet (gim) into small strips (about 1cm wide) with scissors. Sprinkle these strips over the cucumber and chicken breast. The savory flavor of the seaweed will enhance the overall taste.
Step 6
Now, let’s make the special sauce to tie all these ingredients together deliciously. Start by adding 2 tablespoons of soy sauce to a small bowl.
Step 7
Add 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar to the soy sauce to bring a refreshing tang. The sourness of the vinegar will harmonize beautifully with the coolness of the cucumber.
Step 8
Add 1 tablespoon of oligo syrup to the sauce for a touch of mild sweetness. This gentle sweetness will help balance the overall flavors.
Step 9
Finally, add 2 tablespoons of perilla oil (deulgireum) to the sauce for its rich, nutty aroma. The distinctive fragrance of perilla oil will elevate the bibimbap’s taste significantly.
Step 10
Pour the freshly made special sauce evenly over the prepared Cucumber Bibimbap. If you like, top it with a fried egg (sunny-side up is recommended) for a complete and healthy meal. Enjoy your delicious meal!
