This is a fantastic main dish using tofu, a common ingredient in diet meals. By using allulose instead of sugar, the sugar content is reduced, and you can add even less soy sauce according to your preference. Enjoy a satisfying and delicious meal with these tofu steaks that are slightly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside.
Main Ingredients- 1 block Tofu (approx. 300g)
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the tofu (approx. 300g). Lightly score the top surface of the tofu in a criss-cross pattern using a knife. This helps the seasoning penetrate better and makes the texture softer when cooked.
Step 2
Season the scored tofu on both sides with a pinch of salt and pepper. This helps to remove any beany smell from the tofu and enhances its flavor.
Step 3
Preheat a pan and add a small amount of olive oil. Place the seasoned tofu in the pan and sear both sides until golden brown. Cook slowly over medium-low heat until the surface is a beautiful golden brown.
Step 4
Once the tofu is nicely browned, carefully remove it from the pan and place it on a plate. Lightly blot any excess oil with a paper towel. Now it’s time to make the delicious sauce for the tofu steaks. In a small bowl, combine 3 Tbsp water, 2 Tbsp soy sauce, 2 Tbsp allulose, 1 Tbsp vinegar, and 1 Tbsp ketchup. Mix well. Gently simmering the sauce briefly can help achieve a better consistency.
Step 5
Arrange the golden-brown tofu steaks attractively on a serving plate. Pour the prepared sauce evenly over the tofu. Finally, sprinkle a little sesame seeds for a nutty aroma, and your healthy and delicious tofu steaks are ready!
