  • Tonkatsu sauce 2 tablespoons

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

[Pork Tenderloin Roll Steak] First, thinly pound the pork tenderloin to about 0.5 cm thickness using the back of a knife or a meat mallet. This makes the meat tender and easier to cook.

Step 1

Step 2

Season both sides of the pounded tenderloin with a pinch of salt and black pepper. This is a crucial step for building the foundational flavor.

Step 2

Step 3

Lay the bacon strips on a clean surface. Place the seasoned pork tenderloin on top of the bacon and tightly roll them together to form a log shape. Ensuring the bacon wraps the tenderloin snugly is key.

Step 3

Step 4

Now, let’s prepare the steak sauce. Finely slice the onion and button mushrooms that will be used for the sauce.

Step 4

Step 5

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add butter and olive oil. Place the bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin rolls in the hot pan and sear them on all sides until golden brown and beautifully caramelized. This searing process locks in the juices, keeping the steak moist.

Step 5

Step 6

While the steaks are searing, or in a separate pan, heat some olive oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Then, add the sliced onions and mushrooms and cook until they become translucent and tender. This step caramelizes the vegetables, bringing out their natural sweetness.

Step 6

Step 7

To the sautéed vegetables, add the tonkatsu sauce, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and water. Stir everything together and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency, creating a rich and flavorful steak sauce. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Step 7

Step 8

Once the pork tenderloin rolls are cooked through and beautifully seared, slice them into desired portions and arrange them on a serving plate. Generously spoon the prepared steak sauce over the slices. The combination of tender steak and rich sauce creates an exquisite dish.

Step 8

Step 9

[Egg Balls] Let’s make the delicious egg balls! In a bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped green onions, grated Parmesan cheese, and a pinch of black pepper. Knead the mixture vigorously with your hands until it becomes cohesive and slightly sticky. Thoroughly kneading ensures the mixture holds its shape well.

Step 9

Step 10

Peel the hard-boiled eggs. Take a portion of the ground pork mixture and flatten it in your palm. Place a boiled egg in the center and carefully wrap it with the pork mixture, ensuring it’s completely covered. Shape it into a smooth, round ball.

Step 10

Step 11

Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Place the formed egg balls on a baking sheet and bake for approximately 20 minutes, or until the pork is cooked through and the exterior is golden brown. Adjust baking time based on your oven’s performance.

Step 11

Step 12

Lightly score the baked egg balls with a knife for presentation. Serve them with ketchup and tonkatsu sauce, and garnish with chopped chives for a pop of color and freshness. These delightful egg balls, loved by both children and adults, are perfect for completing your festive meal alongside the pork tenderloin roll steak!
