Cooking Instructions

Step 1

We’re about to begin making delicious, tender pork belly bossam right at home. Get ready for your culinary masterpiece!

Step 2

Fill a large pot with plenty of water. Add 1 tablespoon of doenjang and 1 teaspoon of instant coffee powder. Coffee is excellent for removing any gamey smell from the pork. Next, add the large-cut green onion, half an onion, and 6 cloves of garlic. Stir everything together to help the ingredients dissolve well in the water.

Step 3

Carefully place the whole pork belly piece into the seasoned water. Start by bringing the water to a rolling boil over high heat with the lid on. Once it’s boiling vigorously, remove the lid and reduce the heat to medium. Let it simmer for about 25-30 minutes. This cooking time ensures the pork belly becomes incredibly tender and moist inside while thoroughly eliminating any unwanted odors. This is the perfect boiling time for your pork belly bossam!

Step 4

Your perfectly tender and flavorful bossam is now ready! Slice the steaming, juicy pork belly and enjoy it while it’s warm. It pairs wonderfully with fresh lettuce wraps, kimchi, and ssamjang (dipping sauce).
