Today, I’m sharing a simple yet incredibly delicious side dish recipe made with king oyster mushrooms, an affordable and flavorful ingredient! Pan-frying the mushrooms in an air fryer enhances their savory notes and chewy texture. With just a few seasonings, you’ll have a fantastic dish perfect for any meal. Enjoy it with freshly cooked rice!

  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Oligosaccharide (or Allulose)
  • 1/2 Tbsp Sesame Oil
  • Pinch of Toasted Sesame Seeds

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Start by preparing 3 fresh king oyster mushrooms. Wash them thoroughly and slice them into 3-4 equal pieces. Place the mushroom pieces in your air fryer basket. Air fry at 180°C (350°F) for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown and tender. This process helps to remove excess moisture, resulting in a delightfully chewy texture and concentrated flavor.

Once the mushrooms are air-fried, carefully remove them from the air fryer and let them cool slightly. Once they are cool enough to handle, gently tear them into bite-sized strips with your hands. Tearing them into thicker pieces provides a satisfying chew, while thinner shreds will absorb the sauce more readily.

Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a little cooking oil. Add the torn mushroom pieces to the pan and stir-fry until they turn a nice golden brown. Ensure they are cooked through and slightly crisped.

Finally, drizzle in 1/2 tablespoon of sesame oil and sprinkle with a pinch of toasted sesame seeds for added aroma. Give it one last quick stir to combine everything.
