Main Ingredients

  • 500g Beef Brisket
  • Store-bought Korean BBQ Galbi Sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 Green Onions (Scallions)
  • 2 handfuls Garlic cloves (approx. 10-15 cloves)
  • 1/2 Carrot
  • 10 Peeled Chestnuts
  • 1 tsp Coarse Salt (for boiling the beef)
  • 100ml Water (for braising)

The first step to delicious brisket! Cut the beef brisket into large chunks and soak them in cold water for at least 1 hour to remove any blood. Soaking helps eliminate any gamey odor and ensures a cleaner taste.

Place the bloomed brisket in a pot. Add enough water to cover the meat completely. For added flavor, toss in 1 whole onion, 1 green onion, a handful of garlic cloves, and 1 teaspoon of coarse salt. Get ready to boil!

Now, let’s harness the magic of a pressure cooker! Set your electric pressure cooker to the ‘Nutrition/Steam’ or ‘Steam’ mode and cook for a generous 45 minutes. Cooking under pressure will make the meat unbelievably tender.

The meat is incredibly tender! You can enjoy it just as it is – it practically melts in your mouth. It’s so soft that even our baby, who is just over one year old, could eat it without any issues.

Time to add the main seasoning! Carefully transfer the tenderly cooked beef from the pressure cooker to another pot. Strain the broth used for cooking the beef to get a clear liquid, then pour it into the pot with the beef. Add the chopped carrot, the remaining green onion, garlic cloves, and peeled chestnuts.

Here comes the flavor highlight! Add the store-bought Galbi sauce according to your preference and the amount of ingredients. If needed, add about 100ml of water to adjust the consistency and seasoning. Gently mix everything together so the sauce evenly coats all the ingredients.
