Tender Beef Skirt Steak (Anchangsal) for a Special Meal
Flavorful Beef Skirt Steak
Today, we’re preparing beef skirt steak (anchangsal), a cut Mom specifically requested! Since we’re using pre-marinated, store-bought steak, we’ll skip the marination steps. I’ll show you how to easily pan-sear it to perfection at home. Let’s make this delicious steak that’s perfect for the whole family!
Main Ingredients- Marinated Beef Skirt Steak (Anchangsal) 300g (store-bought)
- 1/2 Onion
- Pinch of Whole Black Peppercorns (or ground pepper)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the delicious beef skirt steak for cooking. If using pre-marinated steak from a package, gently pat it with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture; this helps achieve a better sear. Place the prepared steak attractively in a heated frying pan.
Step 2
Now, set the heat to medium. Cooking over high heat can burn the outside while leaving the inside undercooked. It’s important to cook it gently over medium heat. We’re adding onion as a side vegetable; cut the onion into large pieces and place it in the pan with the steak. (Green onions were used in the photo, but onions are also a fantastic pairing!)
Step 3
Once the beef skirt steak starts to cook and brown, cut it into bite-sized pieces. Avoid cutting them too small, as this can cause the juices to escape. We recommend cutting them slightly larger than bite-sized. Stir the vegetables and steak occasionally to ensure even cooking.
Step 4
As the steak becomes beautifully browned and cooked, finish it off with a sprinkle of black pepper for added flavor. Freshly ground whole peppercorns will release a more intense aroma, but ground pepper works well too. The slightly spicy kick from the pepper enhances the steak’s natural flavors, making it even more delicious.
Step 5
When the beef skirt steak is perfectly cooked on all sides and the onions are tender and sweet, it’s ready! Serve immediately while warm and enjoy. We hope you have a wonderful family meal tonight. Enjoy your delicious steak!
