- Pre-made Bulgogi Sauce 300g
- Sake or Mirin 2 Tbsp
- Minced Garlic 1 tsp
- Sesame Oil a little
- Toasted Sesame Seeds 2 Tbsp
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, soak the glass noodles (150g) in warm water. They need to soak for at least 1 hour to become tender and chewy. If the water cools down, replace it with warm water.
Step 2
Prepare the large scallion (1 stalk) by cutting it into 5cm lengths and then thinly slicing them into fine strips for the scallion salad. Alternatively, you can use pre-cut scallions from the market for convenience.
Step 3
For the best flavor, marinate the Korean beef bulgogi cut (500g) in the pre-made bulgogi sauce (300g) the night before and refrigerate. On the day of cooking, place the marinated beef in a pan. Add the minced garlic (1 tsp) and sake or mirin (2 Tbsp), and begin stir-frying over medium heat.
Step 4
Once the beef is about halfway cooked, add the soaked glass noodles. Continue to stir-fry until the glass noodles are transparent and tender. Stir occasionally to prevent them from sticking to the pan.
Step 5
When the glass noodles are fully cooked and transparent, add the prepared scallion strips generously and stir-fry quickly over high heat. It’s important to keep the scallions crisp. Taste the dish and add soy sauce for additional seasoning if needed.
Step 6
Finally, drizzle with a little sesame oil and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds (2 Tbsp) to finish. The combination of sweet, tender beef bulgogi and crisp scallions makes this dish a hit with both children and adults!
