Tender and Delicious Soy-Glazed Pork Shoulder Roast Recipe
Make a Wonderful Soy-Glazed Pork Shoulder with Fresh Pork Shoulder
This soy-glazed pork shoulder is perfect for special occasions or everyday home meals. It enhances the fresh flavor of the pork shoulder while the sweet and savory soy sauce marinade deeply penetrates, creating a taste that everyone from young to old will love. Discover the secret to achieving an exceptional flavor with simple ingredients!
Main Ingredients
- 300g fresh pork shoulder (Sunjin Pork Han-don recommended)
- 1 Tbsp cooking wine (like Mirin)
- A pinch of black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
This is the first step to preparing your fresh pork shoulder. If you’re concerned about any gamey odor, start by rinsing the 300g of pork shoulder thoroughly. Then, sprinkle 1 tablespoon of cooking wine and a pinch of black pepper over it for seasoning. This process not only enhances the pork’s natural flavor but also effectively removes any unwanted smells. It’s important to highlight the inherent taste of the ingredients!
Step 2
Now, it’s time to create the delicious soy marinade. In a bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of oligosaccharide, 2 tablespoons of minced garlic, and 1 tablespoon of tuna extract for that extra umami kick. Mix everything well. Marinating the pork in this mixture allows the flavors to penetrate deeply, making it even more delicious. Ideally, letting it marinate in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 days will deepen the flavor further, but if you’re short on time, using it immediately is perfectly fine too. I personally only let it marinate for less than 30 minutes before cooking, as I planned to cook it soon after.
Step 3
Finally, the step to complete your delicious soy-glazed pork. Heat a pan over medium-high heat, then add the marinated pork shoulder. The key here is to cook it until it’s nicely browned and the marinade is almost completely reduced, similar to how you would cook Bulgogi, rather than having a lot of liquid. This ensures the sauce caramelizes without burning, allowing the rich flavor to be fully absorbed by the meat. Enjoy your soy-glazed pork shoulder, with a slightly caramelized exterior and a tender, juicy interior!
