Main Ingredients
  • 4 frozen dumplings
  • 1/3 onion
  • 1/2 fresh tomato

Seasoning & Others
  • 2 Tbsp ketchup
  • 1/2 Tbsp hoisin sauce
  • A little cooking oil

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the dumplings. Fill a steamer with water and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, place the 4 frozen dumplings in the steamer, cover, and steam for about 7-10 minutes. Steaming until the dumpling wrappers are chewy and the filling is heated through is key. Alternatively, for an extra crispy texture, you can lightly pan-fry or air-fry the dumplings before proceeding.

Step 2

Prepare the onion and tomato. Peel the 1/3 onion and finely mince it. Wash the 1/2 tomato, remove the stem, and dice it into bite-sized pieces, similar in size to the dumplings. While larger chunks are fine, mincing them will help the sauce coat evenly for a more flavorful result.

Step 3

Heat a little cooking oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Add the minced onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until translucent. Sautéing the onion brings out its natural sweetness, enhancing the overall flavor.
