Main Ingredients

  • 2 Hibiscus tea bags
  • 1 bottle Sparkling water (approx. 200cc)
  • 100cc Hot water
  • Ice cubes, as needed

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Before you begin, gather all the ingredients for your refreshing hibiscus iced tea. Make sure you have your hibiscus tea bags and sparkling water ready.

Step 1

Step 2

Prepare a generous cup of ice cubes that look cool just by seeing them. This will add to the delightful refreshment of your iced tea.

Step 2

Step 3

Choose a beautiful mug or glass and place two hibiscus tea bags inside. Next, carefully pour about 100cc of freshly boiled hot water over the tea bags, ensuring they are fully submerged.

Step 3

Step 4

Allow the hibiscus to steep for about 2 minutes to extract its deep, rich crimson color and aroma. Be mindful not to steep for too long, as it can make the tartness overly intense. Adjust steeping time based on your preference.

Step 4

Step 5

Hibiscus tea is known for its distinct tart flavor. If you prefer a smoother taste, add 1 tablespoon of honey or syrup for a subtle sweetness. It’s important to taste and adjust the amount according to your preference. Stir gently until the honey or syrup is well combined.

Step 5

Step 6

Pour the steeped hibiscus tea into your ice-filled glass. Watch as the beautiful crimson liquid fills the glass and mingles with the ice – a truly lovely sight.

Step 6

Step 7

Now, slowly pour in about 200cc of cold sparkling water to add a refreshing fizz. The crispness of the sparkling water will create a fantastic harmony with the floral notes of the hibiscus.

Step 7

Step 8

If the hibiscus itself doesn’t have a very strong aroma for your liking, consider adding a sprig or two of fragrant rosemary. This herbaceous addition complements the tartness of the hibiscus beautifully, creating a more complex and aromatic beverage. Give it a gentle stir, and your special hibiscus iced tea is ready!
