Key Ingredients
  • Baguette bread: 1/2 loaf (approx. 15-20cm length)
  • Butter: 20g (softened at room temperature)
  • Cream cheese: 50g (softened)
  • Fresh strawberries: 6 pieces
  • Cherry tomatoes: 3 pieces
  • Baby greens mix (e.g., spring mix): 50g

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, slice the baguette into bite-sized pieces, about 1.5cm thick. Spread a thin, even layer of softened room-temperature butter onto the top surface of each slice. The butter will help the bread become crispier and more flavorful when toasted.

Step 2

Place the buttered baguette slices on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 150°C (300°F) for about 5-8 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp. The exact time may vary depending on your oven. You want them to be crisp on the outside while remaining slightly soft inside.

Step 3

Wash the fresh strawberries thoroughly, remove the stems, and thinly slice them about 2-3mm thick. Wash the cherry tomatoes, remove their stems, and slice them thinly, similar to the strawberries. Using the freshest produce will ensure the best flavor.

Step 4

Gently wash the baby greens mix under running water. Drain them very well, preferably by letting them sit in a colander or patting them dry with paper towels. It’s crucial to remove excess moisture, as it can make the bruschetta soggy.

Step 5

Once the toasted baguette slices have cooled slightly, spread a generous amount of softened cream cheese evenly over each one. The cream cheese will complement the slight saltiness of the bread and add a delightful creamy sweetness.

Step 6

Arrange a small mound of the patted-dry baby greens on top of the cream cheese. Then, artfully place the sliced strawberries over the greens, overlapping them slightly for a beautiful presentation. The vibrant red of the strawberries and the fresh green of the leaves create a visually appealing appetizer. Serve immediately to enjoy their freshness!
