  • Servings : 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 pack fresh sea grapes (Mulpara)
  • 1/2 medium radish
  • 2 tsp vinegar
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Today, I’m going to share a recipe for a delicious sea grapes salad, which I quickly grabbed from the supermarket on sale. Sea grapes are especially flavorful in winter and are a seasonal delicacy packed with the refreshing aroma of the sea. They are also rich in calcium and iron, making them a great food for women to include in their diet.

Step 1

Step 2

First, rinse the sea grapes thoroughly in running water about 3 times to remove any impurities. Then, squeeze out as much water as possible. Next, thinly julienne the radish. If you prefer to lightly salt the radish for extra crunch, you can toss the julienned radish with a little sugar and vinegar, let it sit for about 10 minutes, then squeeze out the excess liquid. For this recipe, I’ll be using it fresh, so I’ve combined the julienned radish and squeezed sea grapes in a bowl.

Step 2

Step 3

If you don’t salt the radish beforehand, it might release some water when mixed. Please keep this in mind and decide whether to pre-salt the radish or use it directly.

Step 3

Step 4

Now, add the prepared seasoning ingredients – sugar, salt, toasted sesame seeds, and vinegar – to the bowl containing the sea grapes and radish according to the amounts listed in the recipe. The balance of these seasonings is key to the deliciousness.

Step 4

Step 5

After adding the seasonings, gently mix everything together with your hands. This is a fun step that even children can help with! If you notice any clumps of sea grapes, gently break them apart to ensure they are evenly coated. Clumps can lead to uneven saltiness.

Step 5

Step 6

And just like that, your seasonal sea grapes salad is ready! Isn’t this a simple yet fantastic recipe for Mulpara Muchim? It’s a perfect side dish to whet your appetite, especially on days when you don’t feel like eating much.
