Sweet Potato Puree: A Gentle Start to Your Baby’s First Foods
[Beginner’s Guide] Early Stage Baby Food: Making Sweet Potato Puree with a Pot
Introducing your baby to solids can be a milestone! With the ‘Cheoeum Yo-ri’ Sweet Potato Puree baby food kit, you can easily prepare a delicious early-stage puree right on your stovetop. We don’t recommend using a rice cooker for this recipe, as it can sometimes overflow, so a pot is the best choice for safety and control.

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Embark on your baby’s solid food journey with ease! The ‘Cheoeum Yo-ri’ baby food kit makes preparing your baby’s first meals a delightful and simple experience, perfect for new parents.
Step 2
Gather your ingredients and tools: the Sweet Potato Puree baby food kit, a pot, a fine-mesh sieve, 280g of water for cooking, three baby food containers, and a spatula. Having everything ready will make the cooking process smooth.
Step 3
Inside the ‘Cheoeum Yo-ri’ kit, you’ll find two packages: Package 1 contains 10g of rice flour, and Package 2 contains 10g of sweet potato. These carefully selected ingredients are safe and fresh for your little one.
Step 4
In a small bowl, combine the 10g of rice flour with 150g of cool water. Whisk thoroughly until no lumps remain, ensuring a smooth base for your puree. This step is crucial for a silky texture.
Step 5
Pour the remaining 130g of water into your pot. Add the smoothly mixed rice flour and the 10g of sweet potato directly from its packaging – no need to thaw it beforehand.
Step 6
Begin by heating the mixture over high heat for 3 minutes. Once it starts to bubble vigorously, reduce the heat to medium and stir continuously for 5 minutes as it simmers. Finally, lower the heat to low and let it gently cook for another 5 minutes, allowing it to thicken into a soft, smooth porridge.
Step 7
Continue to cook over low heat, checking the consistency and making any adjustments needed. Your goal is a smooth, easily digestible texture for your baby. If it seems too thick, you can add a tiny bit more water.
Step 8
Once the sweet potato puree has finished cooking, carefully strain it through a fine-mesh sieve while it’s still warm. This process ensures an exceptionally smooth and lump-free consistency, making it easier for your baby to eat and digest.
Step 9
Please note that freshly cooked puree may appear thinner when hot compared to its cooled consistency. For a visual guide on achieving the perfect texture for stage 1 baby food, we recommend checking the accompanying video tutorial.
