Sweet Pear & Bellflower Juice Marinated Beef Bulgogi
Delicious Beef Bulgogi Marinated with Pear and Bellflower Juice
I decided to make bulgogi using some beef I had in the freezer, marinated with a special pear and bellflower juice blend. It turned out incredibly delicious!
Main Ingredients- Beef (for Bulgogi) 400g
- 1/2 Onion
- 1/3 stalk Green Onion
- 1 small pack Enoki Mushrooms
Marinade Ingredients- 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Corn Syrup or Sugar
- 1 pack Pear and Bellflower Juice (approx. 100ml)
- 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Corn Syrup or Sugar
- 1 pack Pear and Bellflower Juice (approx. 100ml)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, drain any excess blood from the beef using paper towels. Removing the blood will ensure a clean and less gamey flavor.
Step 2
Slice the onion thinly into strips. If the slices are too thick, they may take longer to cook.
Step 3
Cut the green onion into thick, diagonal pieces, about 2-3 cm long. They will shrink as they cook, so avoid cutting them too thinly.
Step 4
In a large bowl, combine the prepared beef, sliced onion, and chopped green onion. Pour in the pear and bellflower juice pack, ensuring the ingredients are well covered.
Step 5
Add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, a key component for flavor, to the mix. This will help the garlic’s aroma penetrate the meat.
Step 6
Add 2 tablespoons of soy sauce for umami. You can adjust the amount of soy sauce to your preference.
Step 7
Add 1 tablespoon of corn syrup or sugar for sweetness. I used corn syrup for a healthier option, but sugar works just as well. It complements the natural sweetness of the pear and bellflower juice.
Step 8
Prepare the enoki mushrooms by trimming the base and separating the strands. (Tip: If you have other mushrooms like oyster mushrooms, feel free to tear them up and add them for extra texture and flavor.) Mix all the ingredients thoroughly with your hands, ensuring the marinade coats the meat evenly. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. For an even deeper flavor, marinate for over an hour if time permits.
Step 9
Take the marinated bulgogi out of the refrigerator and cook it in a frying pan or pot over medium heat. You don’t need to add extra oil, as the beef will render its own fat.
Step 10
As the beef cooks, the marinade will start to reduce. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking. Continue to cook until the vegetables are tender and the beef is cooked through to your liking.
Step 11
Your delicious Pear and Bellflower Juice Beef Bulgogi is ready! Serve it over a bowl of hot rice for a fantastic meal. This is a wonderful dish that the whole family will enjoy.
