Ingredients- 25g Rice
- 20g Beef (lean cut)
- 20g Banana
- 380ml Beef Broth
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thoroughly wash 25g of rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Soaking the rice will make the puree smoother.
Step 2
Soak 20g of beef in cold water for about 1 hour to remove any blood. Removing the blood is crucial for eliminating any gamey odor and making the puree more palatable for your baby.
Step 3
For 20g of banana, remove the stem. Since pesticides might linger on the peel, it’s best to use the fruit from the middle section. Also, remove the hard core in the center.
Step 4
While bananas don’t typically need cooking for baby food, for extra safety, I briefly blanched it. Blanching it in boiling water for about 1 minute before using is a good practice.
Step 5
Place the beef, from which the blood has been drained, into boiling water and cook for about 5 minutes until done.
Step 6
While the beef is cooking, use a skimmer or ladle to carefully remove any impurities that rise to the surface. This is the secret to a clear broth.
Step 7
In a blender, combine the soaked rice, blanched banana, and cooked beef. Add 200ml of the beef broth and blend until smooth. This is a key step for creating a creamy puree.
Step 8
Transfer the blended mixture to a pot. Add the remaining 180ml of beef broth and start cooking over medium-low heat.
Step 9
Stir constantly to prevent sticking. Once the rice grains have broken down, the puree becomes sticky and has a translucent consistency. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for another 1-2 minutes to finish.
Step 10
Let the finished puree cool slightly, then strain it through a fine-mesh sieve for a super smooth texture that’s easy for your baby to swallow. Your delicious Beef and Banana Puree is ready!
Step 11
Divide the puree into portions for 3 days, storing about 80ml per serving in the refrigerator or freezer. Always warm the puree to an appropriate temperature before feeding it to your baby.
Step 12
Our little one made a hesitant face, perhaps unsure about this new food! Next time, we hope you’ll be more familiar with bananas and enjoy this tasty meal. We support your baby’s delightful journey with solid foods!
