Creative Way to Use Leftover Bread! A Perfect Brunch or Breakfast Option: Easy Bread Pudding Recipe
Transform your leftover bread into a magical treat! This visually appealing and delicious bread pudding will leave you feeling accomplished. A light dusting of powdered sugar and cinnamon makes it even more flavorful, a perfect hearty breakfast option the whole family will love.
Core Ingredients- 3 slices of bread (slightly stale works best)
- 2 large eggs
- 150ml milk
- 2 Tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1 pinch of salt
- A little instant coffee powder (optional, for extra flavor!)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, cut the bread into bite-sized pieces, about 2-3 cm cubes. Cutting them not too thin will help the pudding hold its shape better.
Step 2
In a bowl, crack the 2 eggs and whisk them gently. Add the 150ml milk, 2 Tbsp sugar, 1 Tbsp honey, 1 pinch of salt, and a little instant coffee powder for an extra flavor boost. Whisk until the sugar is dissolved. It’s important to mix well.
Step 3
Add the cubed bread to the egg and milk mixture. Gently toss the bread so that it fully absorbs the liquid. Letting it soak for about 1-2 minutes will result in a moister pudding.
Step 4
Arrange the soaked bread pieces in an oven-safe dish or ramekin. Sprinkle your desired dried fruits (like cranberries or raisins) and nuts (such as walnuts or almonds) evenly over the top. Mixing them in will add more texture.
Step 5
Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C (340°F) for about 10-15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the pudding is puffed up. Please adjust baking time according to your oven’s specifications.
