Ingredients

  • 150g fresh apricots (choose ripe but firm ones)
  • 70g granulated sugar (adjust to your taste and the sweetness of the apricots)
  • 150g water

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Begin by thoroughly washing the fresh apricots. Gently rinse them under running water to remove any dust or debris. Lightly pat them dry before proceeding to the next step.

Step 1

Step 2

Carefully halve the washed apricots and remove the hard pit from the center. You can use a knife or your fingers to separate the pit. Ensuring the pit is completely removed will make the preserve more enjoyable to eat.

Step 2

Step 3

Arrange the pitted apricots into a sterilized glass jar. To sterilize the jar, you can boil it in water or clean it and microwave it. Leave a little space at the top of the jar; don’t fill it to the brim.

Step 3

Step 4

In a small saucepan, combine the 150g of water and 70g of granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Once the syrup begins to boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer for another 1-2 minutes until it thickens slightly. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.

Step 4

Step 5

Pour the warm sugar syrup over the apricots in the sterilized jar. Ensure the syrup completely covers the apricots to preserve them well and create a delicious preserve. Seal the jar tightly and store it in a cool place.
