Main Ingredients
  • 2 medium sweet potatoes

Sweet Butter Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp butter (about 15g)
  • 2 Tbsp honey (about 30g)
  • 1 Tbsp sugar (about 15g)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly, peel them, and then slice them thinly using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife to about 2-3mm thickness. Slicing them thinly ensures the sauce penetrates well and speeds up the cooking process.

Step 2

Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a heated frying pan over medium-low heat. It’s important to melt it gently without letting the butter burn.

Step 3

Spread the melted butter evenly over the bottom of the frying pan. This acts as a coating to prevent the sweet potatoes from sticking.

Step 4

Add the thinly sliced sweet potatoes to the pan and stir-fry gently over medium-low heat, being careful not to burn them. Cook for about 3-5 minutes until the sweet potatoes start to turn translucent.

Step 5

Once the sweet potatoes are slightly cooked, drizzle 1 tablespoon of sugar and 2 swirls (or 2 tablespoons) of honey around the edges of the pan. You can adjust the sweetness to your preference.

Step 6

Mix the sweet potatoes with the sugar and honey, and continue to stir-fry until evenly coated and glossy. They are done when the sweet potato slices turn golden brown and release a sweet, caramel-like aroma! They taste best served warm immediately.
