Main Ingredients
  • 300g Old Pumpkin (weight after removing skin and seeds)
  • 1 pack Pizza Cheese (approx. 150g)
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 2 strips Bacon
  • 10 cloves Garlic (or 1 Tbsp minced garlic)
  • 2 Tbsp Starch Powder (e.g., potato or corn starch)
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Cooking Oil, as needed

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare all the ingredients for the pizza. Cut the old pumpkin into manageable pieces, and chop the bacon, garlic, and onion. Open the pizza cheese package and set aside.

Step 2

Peel the old pumpkin, remove the seeds, and then julienne it as thinly as possible. Slicing it thinly will make it easier to cook and improve the texture.

Step 3

Prepare a generous amount of garlic and slice it thinly. This will add a rich garlic aroma, enhancing the pizza’s flavor. You can also use minced garlic.

Step 4

Sprinkle a little salt over the thinly julienned old pumpkin and onion, and let them sit for about 10 minutes. This process draws out excess moisture from the vegetables, preventing the mixture from becoming too watery and adding a subtle seasoning.

Step 5

Lightly squeeze out the excess water from the salted pumpkin and onion. Then, add 2 tablespoons of starch powder and mix thoroughly to form a batter. The starch powder will help bind the ingredients together.

Step 6

Heat a pan with a generous amount of cooking oil over low heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté slowly until golden brown. This will create a fragrant garlic-infused oil.

Step 7

Once the garlic is golden, add the bacon and cook together until crispy. Transfer the cooked bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

Step 8

In the same pan used for the garlic and bacon, add a little more oil if needed. Spread half of the prepared pumpkin mixture thinly in the pan. Cook over medium-low heat until golden brown on both sides, then transfer to a separate plate.

Step 9

Using the remaining pumpkin mixture, form and cook the second pizza base in the same manner until golden brown.

Step 10

Arrange the sautéed garlic and crispy bacon evenly over the first cooked pumpkin base.

Step 11

Generously sprinkle the pizza cheese over the toppings. Plenty of cheese will make it even more delicious!

Step 12

Finally, place the second cooked pumpkin base on top of the cheese. Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low heat for about 5 minutes, or until the pizza cheese is fully melted and all ingredients are well combined. Keep an eye on the cheese to adjust the cooking time as needed. Your delicious old pumpkin pizza is ready!
