Whip up a delicious side dish in no time with ingredients from your fridge! This super simple wiener sausage stir-fry is perfect as a children’s side dish, a quick snack when guests arrive, or an easy appetizer with drinks. You can even use it as a sandwich filling with toast.
Main Ingredients
- 300 g wiener sausages
- 1/4 onion
- 1/4 bell pepper (any color)
Seasoning
- 3 Tbsp ketchup
- 1 Tbsp teriyaki sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp sugar
- 3 Tbsp ketchup
- 1 Tbsp teriyaki sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp sugar
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, lightly blanch the wiener sausages in boiling water to remove any impurities, or make several diagonal cuts on their surface. Chop the onion and bell pepper into bite-sized pieces.
Step 2
Heat a little cooking oil in a lightly greased frying pan over medium heat. Add the scored wiener sausages and stir-fry until they turn golden brown and the cuts open up nicely. This ensures a more delicious flavor.
Step 3
Once the sausages are nicely browned, add the chopped onion and bell pepper to the pan. Stir-fry them together until the vegetables become slightly translucent.
Step 4
Now, add the seasoning ingredients – ketchup, teriyaki sauce, and sugar – to the pan. Stir-fry everything together until the sauce evenly coats all the ingredients and they develop a nice glossy sheen. Continue to stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
Step 5
Transfer the finished wiener sausage stir-fry to a serving plate, presenting it attractively. It’s best enjoyed warm. Serve it as a side dish with rice or as a delightful snack with your favorite beverage!
