  • Cooking Time : Within 10 minutes
  • Difficulty : Beginner

Key Ingredients
  • 1 packet of instant ramen (use noodles, dried vegetable mix, and half of the seasoning packet)
  • 2 Tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 handful of green onions (about 1/2 cup, chopped)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Here’s the first step to making your delicious stir-fried ramen! Prepare one packet of instant ramen. We’ll be using the noodles and the dried vegetable packet. As for the seasoning packet that comes with the ramen, we’ll only use about half of it. See? The ingredients are super simple!

Step 2

First, bring a generous amount of water to a boil in a pot. Once the water is at a rolling boil, add the ramen noodles and the dried vegetable mix and let them cook.

Step 3

Gently loosen the ramen noodles with chopsticks as they cook to prevent them from sticking together. Ensuring the noodles are evenly cooked will improve the texture when stir-fried later.

Step 4

Here’s a pro tip for making your ramen noodles chewier! Periodically lift the noodles out of the boiling water, allowing them to touch the air. This helps them become more springy and firm. Try repeating this a few times.

Step 5

Once the ramen noodles are cooked to your liking, drain them thoroughly using a colander. Excess water can dilute the flavor, so make sure to leave only the noodles in the pot.

Step 6

Now, it’s time to add the green onions for extra flavor. Prepare about a handful of green onions and chop them finely before adding them to the pot. The fragrant aroma of the green onions will add a special touch to your stir-fried ramen.

Step 7

Next, drizzle 2 tablespoons of cooking oil into the pot. Pouring the oil towards the bottom of the pot can help prevent the noodles from sticking and ensure more even stir-frying.

Step 8

Chef Baek Jong-won suggested using half of the seasoning packet, but in my experience, using the whole half can sometimes be a bit too salty. Therefore, I recommend using just slightly less than half. It’s best to adjust the seasoning to your taste!

Step 9

Add all the prepared ramen seasoning to the pot and turn the heat to low. Be careful not to stir-fry over high heat, as this can burn the noodles.

Step 10

Now, stir-fry all the ingredients together until they are beautifully combined! You’ll know it’s successful when the noodles, green onions, and seasoning blend together to create an appealing color. It’s important to keep stirring to prevent burning.

Step 11

Finally, sprinkle some toasted sesame seeds over the finished stir-fried ramen. This not only makes it look more appealing but also enhances the flavor. The nutty aroma of the sesame seeds creates an even more special dish. Enjoy your meal!
