Fondue Sauce

  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 300ml Almond Breeze or milk
  • 1 paper cup (approx. 100g) mozzarella cheese
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch

Dipping Ingredients

  • Broccoli (to taste)
  • Bell pepper (to taste)
  • Cherry tomatoes (to taste)
  • Mushrooms (to taste)
  • 5 slices bread

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in the inner pot of your rice cooker. Once melted, add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic and sauté over low heat until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic, sauté until lightly golden.

Step 1

Step 2

As the garlic becomes fragrant, pour in 300ml of Almond Breeze or milk. Stir well, then use the rice cooker’s ‘Keep Warm’ or ‘Cook’ function to heat it gently (about 3-5 minutes).

Step 2

Step 3

Once the sauce starts to warm up, add 1 paper cup of mozzarella cheese and 2 slices of cheddar cheese. Close the rice cooker lid and wait until the cheese is completely melted. Stirring occasionally will help it melt more evenly.

Step 3

Step 4

Now it’s time to thicken the sauce. In a small bowl, dissolve 1 tablespoon of cornstarch in 150ml of cold water until smooth, creating a cornstarch slurry. Gradually pour this slurry into the cheese sauce in the rice cooker while stirring well. Continue stirring and cooking until the sauce reaches your desired consistency – a nice thick and creamy texture. Finally, stir in 1 teaspoon of herb salt to season. Your delicious fondue sauce is ready!

Step 4

Step 5

Prepare the ingredients to dip into the fondue. Cut the bread into bite-sized pieces and toast them in an air fryer at 180°C (350°F) for 7 minutes until golden brown. Cut your chosen vegetables like broccoli, bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, and mushrooms into bite-sized pieces. Lightly coat them with olive oil and sauté or grill them in a pan to your liking. Dipping lightly cooked fresh vegetables into the fondue makes it even more delicious.
